Peter Fierz, Au-Wadenswil (President)
Peter Fierz is the father of 3 school
aged children. He lives in the village of Au in the canton of Zurich.
Peter works as a graphic designer with a special focus on 3D design. He
has his own company and also works for a print shop which supports
people with disabilities. He travelled to Cameroon for the first time in
2008 /2009 and 2010/2011 and shares his impressions of his visit at the School in
Mamfe.
Nadia Bär, Zurich
Nadia Bär is a single mother of a school-aged daughter, photographer and sociologists. She worked for the Swiss Red Cross in the canton of Zurich for 10 years in the asylum and refugee department. She is artistically active.
Sabine Biland-Weckherlin, Baden
Sabine Biland-Weckherlin is a teacher with a bachelor degree in English. She formerly worked in the art and finance area. For almost 10 years she worked for the Red Cross in the refugee department. At the beginning of 2009 she changed to "da Unternehmensberatung in Personalfragen - in Zurich, a consulting firm primarily concerned with human resources issues. She is a single mother of two school aged children and lives in Baden. Sabine Biland initiated this project in 2003. She has since visited Cameroon four times.
Philippe Eyer, Hurden
Philippe Eyer, father of 3 school-aged children, lives with his family in Hurden, Schwyz. He holds a MBA degree in International Management Consulting and has been working at EMA Partners Switzerland AG in Zurich since 1999. In 2009 he took administrative control of this internationally active executive search firm. Prior to this, he worked for the tourism company Kuoni, as well as at auction house Christies and a commodity trader.
Bertin Joss, Dubendorf
Bertin Joss is married with 3 school-aged children. He holds a MAS in Corporate Finance and
works in the financial sector in Zurich. Born and raised in Cameroon, he has
lived in the canton of Zurich since 1983. After his education in the financial sector,
he initiated various projects in Cameroon. He regularly travels privately and on
business to Cameroon.
Emilio Conrado Plano, Zurich
Conrado Plano lives in Zurich, where he works as Programmer for Accenture Technology Solutions. He holds a Masters degree from the ETH of Zurich. Born in Argentina, he has had the opportunity to work as an intern in India during 2008. He is a travel enthusiast, passionate photographer and cinema fanatic.
Thomas Ritter, Zurich
Studies in Philosophy and Political Sciences in Zurich and Montreal. Thomas Ritter is a Consultant in Executive Search in Zurich. Married to a woman of Cameroonian origin, he has strong family ties to the country and is for several years now pursuing various cultural and business projects in Africa.
Christoph K. Sanne, Wadenswil
After his studies in Munich and London, Christoph Sanne specialized in Marketing and International Business Development in consumer goods industry (FMCG). He lived and worked in West Africa for 2 years.
Annerägi Schwarz, Urdorf
Annerägi Schwarz is a married primary school and physical education teacher. She has been travelling throughout Africa for many years. She lived in Ghana and taught at the Swiss School there as well as at a school for illiterate adults. Since this experience, the issue of improvement of African schools has been very important to her.
Daniel von Stockar, Zurich
Daniel von Stockar lives in the Canton of Thurgau and has been in the management for three years. He is in charge of a farming business.
Our Partners in Cameroon
The "Searchlight School" in Mamfe is under the supervision of the dedicated Cameroonian Elvis Mbi Mbeng. This young man is originally from Mamfe and has been working with great enthusiasm for the success of the school right from the beginning. He is supported by an executive board of five local people who have a strong relationship to the school. Our Swiss delegate in Mamfe, Hans Zimmermann, has been a resident in Cameroon for 20 years. He is responsible for the finances and also works as a mentor.
Elvis Mbi Mbeng, Mamfe (school director)
Elvis Mbi Mbeng is 32 years old, father of two children and currently works as a sales director in the IT sector. He is the founder of the Sabinelly Philanthropic Foundation (SEPFO), a charity setup which cares for orphans and socially disadvantaged children.
Hans Zimmermann, Mbakam
Hans Zimmermann from Baretswil has been working in Cameroon for 26 years as a medical worker. In Mamfe he manages a clinic and a health station. He is married and has a son (22), who is currently pursuing his education in Germany.
